Product Description: Best practices based array of training, planning, and preparedness materials (i.e. guides, step-by-step playbooks, checklists) refined through on-site delivery to five communities in Kentucky to enhance community continuity of operations during a pandemic event.

Target: Medium and smaller-size communities without established planning expertise.

Initial Award Period: (March 9, 2009 – September 8, 2010)
Activities included creating pandemic planning and preparedness guidance materials as well as developing and implementing a resource web portal.

The project web portal, http://www.communitypandemicprep.org, is designed to provide local officials, community planners, and government leaders with a one-stop shop for current pandemic influenza best practices and information. With over 100 resources, web links and reports, this portal covers the most important sectors and professional disciplines impacted by a pandemic influenza outbreak and will be continually updated as new pandemic guidance documents and resources become available.

Final Award Period: (September 9, 2010 – March 9, 2012)
Activities will be centered on the coordination, development, and delivery of five community-based pandemic influenza workshops with the focus on leading these communities through the planning process and guide developed during the initial award period.
