Product Description: Current Best Practice (cBP) guidelines to successfully manage the biopsychological effects of disease containment strategies (i.e. quarantine and isolation) during a pandemic event.
Target: Public and Behavioral Health Professionals
Initial Award Period: (March 9, 2009 – September 8, 2010) Activities included conducting literature reviews, surveys, focus groups/interviews, as well as developing and articulating cBP guidelines.
Final Award Period: (September 9, 2010 – March 9, 2012) Activities will be centered on the following three goals: 1) to design best practice strategies for primary and secondary prevention plans that build resilience for use in families facing pandemic situations, 2) to make adaptations to the proposed guidelines for use in the state, and 3) to disseminate this knowledge to appropriate community professionals to build a culture of readiness in professionals providing planning and response services to families and children.
